Lightning Network

A Layer 2 payment protocol being built on top of Bitcoin which aims to enable participating Bitcoin nodes to facilitate frequent, rapid, and low-fee Bitcoin transactions. Proposed as a solution to the Bitcoin scalability problem evidenced by late 2017/early 2018.
