Genesis Block

The first historical block on a blockchain. Bitcoin’s genesis block was mined by its pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, on January 3, 2009. The genesis block is the prototype for all other blocks and sets the parameters for a given blockchain network from thereon.
