The traditional financial infrastructure in the world of cryptocurrencies that utilizes intermediaries. These protocols have at least one of the following features: (1) users engage with them in a manner where their assets are held in custody by a third party, and (2) centralized organizations with the power to block or restrict access to accounts are in control.
