Funding Rate

A trading term that helps gauge overall market sentiment.Funding rates are payments made to either long or short traders, calculated based on the difference between perpetual futures markets and spot prices. When the market is bullish, traders expect higher prices and are willing to payshort traders for their position. This turns the funding rate positive. The opposite is also true in a bearish environment.
