Maximal Extractable Value (MEV)
Also referred to as Miner Extractable Value or Maximal extractable value: It is the value that can be extracted from block production in addition to the usual block reward and gas costs. Miners and validators can extract value from user transactions by adding, omitting, and reordering transactions. Whoever has the ability to organize transactions in a block can do so advantageously by ensuring that their transactions take advantage of all arbitrage opportunities.
