FAQs

Architecture for our trading algorithm was inspired by the challenges we faced as fellow cryptocurrency enthusiasts. It can take hours of daily charting to identify trading opportunities for the top cryptocurrencies. Whereas, the trading signals on the main page of our site empower users, at a glance, to invest time and capital in only cryptocurrencies that offer the most opportunity for winning trades.

Start to finish, development of the trading algorithm was a three month process. From ideation to MVP to implementation, we tested our trading algorithm every step of the way.  Ideation for the trading algorithm included iterative calculations with dozens and dozens of technical indicators. After several weeks of late nights, we pared down the components of our trading algorithm and created the MVP. Next, we added the data output by our algorithm to an early version of the CryptoEQ dashboard you see today. Further, we fine-tuned the user experience through multiple rounds of usability studies. Lastly, we backtested the output over years of historical market information to optimize performance, maximize gains, and minimize losses. As market conditions change, we re-evaluate performance and adjust our algorithm.

While there are thousands of different cryptocurrencies in existence, the hard truth is that few of them are honest attempts to build a quality product with a real use case that is valuable to a meaningful audience. That said, we do add new assets to the site regularly. Sign-up for a basic account to receive our email newsletter including updates on new assets and more!

Design of our trending algorithm was inspired by challenges we faced as fellow cryptocurrency enthusiasts. It can take hours every day to keep up with all of the articles, social media content, and video coverage for cryptocurrencies. With the trending signals on the main page of our site, users are empowered, at a glance, to invest attention in only the cryptocurrencies that are experiencing the most activity.

Start to finish, development of the trending algorithm was a two month process. From ideation to MVP to implementation, we tested our trending algorithm every step of the way. Ideation for the trending algorithm involved pairing down solutions to the question: How can we systematically quantify activity around a cryptocurrencies? After several weeks of late nights, we elected to press forward with measuring search volumes of top cryptocurrencies. From there, we iterated with dozens and dozens of queries of cryptocurrencies to create our MVP.  Next, we added the data output by our algorithm to an early version of the CryptoEQ dashboard you see today. Further, we fine-tuned the user experience through multiple rounds of usability studies. Lastly, we forward tested the output over months of data to optimize performance and signal sensitivity. As market conditions change, we re-evaluate performance and adjust our algorithm.

Absolutely! We encourage users to use the contact form, including but certainly not limited to new cryptocurrencies they would like to see listed on the site!

Cryptocurrencies are a new and innovative breakthrough, and unlike traditional money and assets, there is not an accepted consensus for cryptocurrency asset valuation. On top of that, not all cryptocurrencies have the same use case or aim to solve a similar problem. Some cryptocurrencies want to be money, some a decentralized web 3.0 platform, and some, decentralized file storage. Therefore, comparing one cryptocurrency to the next is truly comparing apples to oranges.

With this problem in mind, we created the Ten CORE Categories, a framework that evaluates each cryptocurrency and creates an easy to understand rating. Each individual category, while high-level, is critical to any cryptocurrency's success. Category by category, we are able to tailor our analysis to each assets specific value proposition or use case. First, based on dozens of metrics, we assign a score to a given CORE Category. Next, individual CORE Category scores are aggregated to issue a single rating. The final rating is a combination of this quantitative and qualitative analysis as compared to other assets with a similar use case - i.e. smart contract platforms, privacy, store-of-value, etc.

By taking the time to analyze each individual asset relative to its stated use case, our framework identifies, measures, and highlights what really matters. Our simple five tiered rating system empowers our user to make up-to-date, informed decisions with one, easy-to-understand signal found on our main page.
